Gina LaLiberte is the Statewide Harmful Algal Bloom Coordinator for the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources. She discussed harmful cyanobacterial blooms and Cladophora in Wisconsin and the Door Peninsula. Click here to watch a recording of her program.

Gina LaLiberte is a research scientist with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources’ Water Quality Program, Division of Environmental Management. A life-long resident of the Great Lakes region, she has a BS in Biology and a MS in Resource Ecology Management from the University of Michigan. “I love algae!” Gina says. “In my work I use algae for bioassessment of past and present water quality, to inform policy development, and to set management and restoration goals.” Gina has studied algae for 30 years.
